The Self-Love Revolution

ALWAYS SPEAK TO YOURSELF LIKE YOU WOULD SOMEONE YOU LOVE

Self-Love is at the heart of all I do.

This blog. My photography work. The way I treat others. It all roots from the belief that you will be happier, healthier, and live more abundantly when you learn to love yourself and treat yourself with love.

While the terms "self-love" and "self-care" are being used more and more often in relation to wellness, there is still some confusion on the subject. It is important to understand that self-love and confidence are NOT the same as arrogance or conceit. It is not about being better than someone else; self-love stands alone in defining the way one sees themselves in a positive and loving light.

We are conditioned to think we need to change. Advertising is designed to sell us things to “improve” our appearance. Women are taught to feel like they need to look a certain way to be beautiful.

We are taught that feeling good about ourselves is vain or narcissistic, but self-love is not about vanity. It is understanding and appreciating your own worth with regards to your well-being and happiness. It comes from within, and it comes without fear or comparison.

We’re constantly scrolling through visual messages online and not reminding ourselves that they are carefully constructed.

We end up feeling like we’re not good enough.

We feel insecure about our own lives and wind up in constant competition with one another.

I am a woman, just like my clients, I have fears and insecurities. I see my flaws in the mirror. I’ve been picked on, called names, and made to feel unworthy, unpretty, and uncool.

I now understand that being bullied was never really about me. People who feel insecure and unhappy you tend to want to bring others down.

This is why we need strong, confident women raising more strong confident women and treating one another as sisters.

People who feel good about themselves are kinder to others.

I love to photograph images of confidence.

Beauty. Glamour. Boudoir. Intimate Portraiture. Whatever you want to call it.

It is all about unapologetic self-love. Realness. Acceptance. Sisterhood.

These sessions are a complete act of self-care. Helping you see yourself for the magical goddess you truly are. That others probably already see in you.

My work is rooted in the belief that when you leave your house with your head held high, it is going to affect every other interaction in your life. Self-confidence improves your performance at work, your sex life, your relationships with friends, family, romances, and also your physical health. It is the key to a happy, abundant life.

Plus, if I can create work that helps others feel confident, unapologetic, and all in love with themselves, then I can impact the way they treat others in their lives as a result.

I want to help you love yourself, so you can go out and kick ass in your life every single day.

Practice self-love as part of your daily routine.

Here are some recommended self-loving mantras to help you feel good.

Repeat them daily until you cultivate a mindset of love for yourself. Challenge yourself by saying them to yourself in the mirror.

- I am strong, powerful, and fearless. I am healthy, I am happy, I am free.

- Every day in every way, I get better and better and better.

- All that I seek is already within me.

- I am a gift that is too big to be wasted on fear, self-doubt, and sadness.

- I am in control of my thoughts and emotions, and I choose to be happy today.

- I am the only me there has ever been and will ever be. I am beautiful. I am magic.

- I am the universe in human form.

I also can't recommend enough giving yourself the gift of beautiful images to celebrate yourself, your body, and your life. My own session with the incredible Jennifer Skog while in California was absolutely life changing. When I look at them I feel like a rock star.

When you look at your own images for years to come, I want you to feel the joy, freedom and confidence embodied during the photoshoot.

If you’re having a bad hair day or you feeling down on yourself, you can look at your images and remember how freaking awesome you truly are. These images are a tool that strengthen a positive mindset.

So, go for it! Love yourself.

You are the universe in human form.

Love, Light, & Gratitude,

Nicole
