Yale's Course on Happiness is Open for Enrolment - It's Online and it's FREE
Yes. You read that correctly. Ivy League Yale University is now offering it's most popular course ever "The Science of Wellbeing" online, free, for everyone.
I may have mentioned by now that I am obsessed with personal development. I absolutely love to learn and taking advantage of free resources has become one of my favourite things. I am so grateful to live in a world where we have access to so much information and education at our fingertips. It's astounding, really.
When gathering information online, it's important to keep the source in mind and be aware that you will find conflicting opinions and perspectives on everything (so it's easy to get overwhelmed). But when you hear that Yale University is offering their most popular class online for free, you don't let that kind of knowledge go untouched!
The Yale course, called "Psychology and the Good Life", was created by psychology professor Laurie Santos and launched in January. It quickly became the most popular class ever offered in a 316 year history with 1200 undergrads enrolled in it's first semester!
As a means of meeting requests of students all over the world interested in the class, Yale is now making the program even more accessible. It has been shortened and rebranded the course for the online community as "The Science of Wellbeing", and begins a new session on April 30th! It is available completely free, or for a small fee to those wishing to receive a certificate.
The condensed class description states:
"(this course) overviews what psychological science says about happiness. The purpose of the course is to not only learn what psychological research says about what makes us happy but also to put those strategies into practice. The first half of the course reveals misconceptions we have about happiness and the annoying features of the mind that lead us to think the way we do. The second half of the course focuses on activities that have been proven to increase happiness along with strategies to build better habits".
I have enrolled and you can too on Coursera.org !
Each week the curriculum assigns "rewirements": practices aimed at rewiring habits. I will be happy to share those with you on my instagram each week - so make sure you're following if you don't want to take the full six week course.
Gifts like this remind us that there is unlimited possibility and opportunity and the world is rooting us all on.
Now go enjoy that free learning.
Love, Light, and Gratitude,
